Charles de Guise

1571-1640

Charles de Guise was the fourth duc de Lorraine and the son of Henri I de Guise, who was assassinated, on the orders of Henri III , at Blois in December 1588. He sided with Henri IV in exchange for a considerable sum of money, and became governor of Provence.
