Louis Ier de Condé
1530-1569
Louis I de Condé, uncle of Henri de Navarre, became the leader of the Protestant reform movement in 1559.
He was compromised in the conspiracy of Amboise in March 1560 and sentenced to death, but was spared due to the death of François II. He was killed in the Battle of Jarnac during the third War of Religion in 1569.
