Ca. 1564-1619
Martin Fréminet was a painter and Mannerist designer of the "second school of Fontainebleau".
Trained in Italy, he returned to France in 1603 at Henri IV's request to become the King's painter and gentleman of the bedchamber. He was commissioned to decorate the Trinity Chapel at the Château de Fontainebleau. Fréminet was a late Mannerist artist whose work anticipates the Baroque.
